philosophy
Blue Chip Academy is a basketball club and community dedicated to teaching the game of basketball at the individual and team level, while simultaneously creating an educational environment for young student athletes to positively develop character and self awareness.
The goal of the program is to inspire athletes to become self-motivated, enthusiastic participants in their athletic pursuits, and further develop personal attributes, such as, loyalty, integrity, responsibility and commitment. While learning the fundamentals of basketball, student athletes are given the opportunity to develop life-long skills and positive values, including leadership, self-discipline, perseverance, and respect for program rules and regulations.
Blue Chip Academy coaching philosophy is to give detailed instructional and informative reps with positive and constructive criticism without causing resentment. Our coaches are teachers first, and the court is the classroom. The coaches teach how to deal with success and failure through competition.
In the end, basketball is an extra-curricular activity and players must remember that participation is a privilege and not a right.
